Growing by leaps and bounds! :)

Our growing family has added four babies in just the last three or four months.  The top two pics are of Isabelle Joy. She was born early this morning by my Niece, Colleen  and her hubby , James ( my brother, second to oldest...Tom's youngest daughter).

This one is Elora. This is the only pic I had in my folder to share.Must get more.! She is my Niece Brianne and her hubby Ronnie's ( My older brother Lewis's younger daughter) newest member of her own growing family. Elora is their fifth child. :)

The three pics above are of Claire James...my Niece Nicole and her husband ,Troy's ( My sister's daughter) first baby.:)

The two above are Travis. They call him T.J.  He is my Nephew ) my oldest brother's youngest son) and his wife Julie's first baby. :)

So  you can see that God has greatly BLESSED our family and we are more than THANKFUL to him!

For the record..and this is just my immediate side of the family...

Mama had 4 children. Between us four..we had 15 children..then together our children had 23 children.:)  This doesn't even include my Daddy's side of the family or my new Step Dad, Joe's side of the family.  Then...just Mama and Joe's  family together..... They have 8 children,20 Grand children and 39 Great Grand children. In February..they are expecting another Great Grand child . I told Mama that we are gonna have to have a corner in heaven just for our family.:)

Thanks for stopping in and taking a look.:) Please leave a comment so I will know you were here.:)

Thanksgiving dinner pics

This is Christy AFTER she discovered that the onions were really potent.LOL She even has gloves on her hands. It didn't help much..she still got tears in her eyes...but made me laugh.LOL

Christy baked the turkey this year. It was AWESOME! SO moist and delicious. She got the recipe from all recipes on line. It's called.."The Perfect Turkey" and they are absolutely RIGHT!:) You have GOT to try it!

This is the first table we put the food on. Christy and I made some of the things and then family members added to it. Christy made the turkey, baked the rolls and then in the photo below..she made the macaroni and cheese and the sweet potato souffle' .

This was the dining table. Liz made the pies and the deviled eggs. I made the pistachio whip.

Some of the family watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.

                                                                    Dinner time!!! :)
After dinner we always decorate the house for CHRISTmas. The kids are getting older and don't have to be supervised as they used to..makes things a lot easier.:) This is Zander on the step ladder,Destiny next to him and Lexi sitting on the floor.

                                                                     Zander and Destiny.

This is Destiny decorating the hall shelf at the top of the stairs. She wore her clothes layered and was really happy to peal the sweater and skirt off when it got warm in the house.:)  The pic above shows what she was wearing underneath.:) I prolly should have put this one before the other..but you get what I mean..right?:)
Thought I would show you what was under all that wrapping. I made the potato salad. Two kinds actually. One with sugar and without onions...the other with Splenda..and onions for me.:) I also made two Waldorf salads. One with sugar and one with Splenda. It worked out really well. I didn't have to miss any of my favorite dishes.:) Liz made the green bean casserole..which is another favorite of the family. She made two lemon meringue pies. Jim's favorite.:) We had a great time with family and hope that YOU had a wonderful time with yours also.(whenever your Thanksgiving day is/was).

Cards and Cookies.:)

These are a few of the cards I have gotten..almost..finished. I have the outsides completely done and am going to need to find something *COOL*..to write on the insides.:)  Plus...eventually give credit to the ones who made these CUTE characters for me to use. I knew I was going to have a limited time to complete several cards..so I used the same backgrounds ..tweaking the snowline a little on them.I am really happy with the way they turned out.:) Glitter and gems add the sparkle that completes them.

These are only a few of the cookies Christy spent this weekend making. She made so many!! Jim took a gallon zip locked bag full to share with his employees yesterday and Christy loaded up a bag for her fellow employees at the Animal Clinic.Believe me...there are more than enough for us to enjoy for several days.Especially since I am limited with the sugar I can consume.LOL The round ones with the sprinkles are soft sugar cookies that she flavored with almond instead of vanilla. They were a big hit last year!! The oatmeal chocolate chip ones.(second from top in the cookie pics) are MY favorite ones!! They are soooo GOOD! :)

Christy is cooking for Thanksgiving this year. She did such an AWESOME job with her turkey last year..and I am really looking forward to it again. Family members are cooking side dishes etc to add to the meal. We will have Robby and his family ,our Nephew and his family and our family for the day. After the meal..those who are able to stay awake will help decorate our house for CHRISTmas. It has become a  tradition I suppose.LOL

Thanks so much for stopping in...and please don't leave without letting me know you were here.:)

My Niece,Nicole had her baby girl this morning.:)

Congratulations to my Niece , Nicole and her hubby,Troy, on the arrival of their baby girl this morning.:) I don't have any photos yet but Mama left this on Facebook for the family and friends...

Clair weighs 6,lb 11 oz, 20 1/2 in long, and Tionie (my sister) said she is very beautiful.

Jim has been sick the last couple of days. Yesterday was a rough one. He started out with sore throat, coughing and a fever and the fever kept going up as the evening drew closer. It got up to 103.2 and that's when Christy and I started rubbing him down with cold wet wash cloths and added some alcohol to the water. He didn't care for that much..but after a while..his temp went down a bit when the ibuprofen kicked in too.:) His fever broke sometime in the middle of the night and he is now just really weak. Gonna stay home from work today to get his strength back up. I want to thank each and every one of you who prayed for him during this time.THANK YOU! :)

Nicole's Baby Shower :) My Niece...

I borrowed these top two pics from someone else that was at the party and put these together. Such CUTE ideas for this party. My sister made the stroller and I thought it was adorable!! The mason jars etc across the mantle have assorted lace wrapped around them and candles inside to make them light up and the mirror reflected them perfectly.:) BTW...we have been told that she is having a girl. Can you tell?LOL

It was a really GREAT baby shower. LOTS of family and friends from both sides of the family.Couples were invited..so Jim and I were able to attend it together. It was hosted by my sister and my Niece..Nicole's Mother in law. It was at her Mother in law's home.

This was our gift to Nicole and Troy. A baby girl scrapbook with the pages set up so all she would have to do is add pics and some journaling. The card is similar to the one I posted a while back for a little boy. I changed the main background to pink instead of blue for this one and added a beaded swirl to the bottom.
I just HAD to show you this display of gifts for the guests.

My Brother in Law,Ed, who is Nicole's Dad..made these CUTE booties and filled them with a little pillow stuffing and some thin strips of paper which were crinkled and then he added the dinner mints to the top.You see the up close display below.

The mason jars were filled with the dry ingredients for cookies. The tag attached has the recipe and instructions for making them. I always LOVED this idea and was thrilled when my sister told me to take two..cause others had skipped taking them.:)

This is my sister and Nicole..her daughter. Nicole is due to have her baby on Nov.2. Not very far from now. Nicole's side view below.:)

I thought you might like to see a couple of close up pics of some of the CUTE decorations.

Update on Dad's recovery. He was able to come home this last Friday. Terry, Jim's sister is monitoring his vital signs and sugar etc. She said he is doing really well.:) Thank you once again for your prayers. They are much appreciated!! Hugs!

Another Update on Jim's Dad.:)

Good morning.:)

Just wanted to pop in to *THANK YOU* for your prayers for Jim's Dad. He has been moved from the hospital and into rehab.:) How long he needs to stay in rehab depends on how well he follows instructions and how his body progresses in healing.:) Your continued prayers will be MOST appreciated!

Another Update.

Good morning !
I got a call from Terry,Jim's sister, a few days ago and she told us that Dad had a problem with an
irregular heart beat so they couldn't move him into a private room until they found a medication that would work to lower the rapid beat. They finally found one that worked and put him in a private room. Yesterday, Terry called again and told us that Dad's heartbeat was irregular again and that they had to give him two things of blood because his blood count was low. I talked with a friend who's Grandma had a similar heart surgery and he told me that it is normal...because they don't know how much blood Dad lost during the surgery and they replace it as they are able to determine how much is needed. I sure hope he is right.:) Dad said he is tired and I can imagine that is SOO true! Jim was able to chat with him on the phone for a few minutes...but didn't want to keep him up too long.

Your continued prayers will be much appreciated! Thank you so much!

Good morning.:)
I just wanted to let my friends and family know that Jim's Dad had a massive heart attack Thursday morning. He had to have a quadruple bypass.Jim and I went to Florida to be there. They had already done the surgery by the time we got there. Good news! The heart surgeon asked Dad if he could pray with him before the surgery and of course Dad let him.:) God is AWESOME! The surgeon was able to find an artery past the completely closed one too that he has had for four years. Dad is recovering so great that the nurses are even surprised! Jim's Dad will be 82 this Dec. 4th. The surgeon told him this was his only option so naturally..he chose to do it. :) Two days after surgery..Dad is eating solid foods..sitting up and taking walks! Praise the Lord for his goodness and mercy! We continue to pray for Dad's recovery. There are a lot of things that could still happen..but with the grace of God..none of them will.:)

Thanks for stopping in and your prayers would be greatly appreciated.:)

Jim and I left Florida and started home Saturday evening. Jim had asked the nurses if they thought it would be okay for us to leave and they said "He's doing GREAT!" :)

Robby's 34th Birthday :)

Today we celebrated our youngest son Robby's 34th Birthday. His wife, Liz made the cake and brought the decorations over to our house. They cleaned up afterwards too.:)

This is Robby waiting for us to start singing Happy Birthday to him before he blows out the candles.:)

This is Robby holding the card I made for him.I had to rush it though cause they came over a couple of hours sooner than I expected.:)

This is Robby holding his gift from us. The movie.."Now you see me". Robby has LOVED magic since he was a small boy.Liz said he really wanted this movie. Jim and I saw it in the theater the week it came out. Very interesting.:)

This is the cookie/brownie cake that Liz made for him. It has cream cheese icing.mmm.:)

Guess Robby will have plenty to do for a while.:) Four movies!!

Tennessee Aquarium !

The aquarium in Tennessee has two different entrances. One for salt water and the other for fresh water. Jim said that the salt water usually has more variety and pretty colors than the fresh. He was right.:)
This is me.:) Jim asked me to stand in front of the birds so he could get a pic. He also asked..why are there birds in an Aquarium?LOL He then asked why they had a Butterfly Garden when we came to it.hehe

This is the view of the Tennessee River from about the third story. We took the longest escalator I have ever ridden on to get to this floor. The view was AWESOME though.:)

We watched a barge being pushed down the river. We don't see this every day where we live.LOL

I got some COOL pics of Jelly Fish too.:)

It looks like one of the crabs was looking for an exit.:)

This is a face only a Mother crab could love.Ewww.:)

Two of the divers who keep the Aquarium clean had a question and answer time for anyone who wanted to know something about their job or the Aquarium. One of them would do the talking while the other one kept the sharks at a safe distance. They told us that the sharks weren't aggressive ...but I think they weren't really sure.LOL

There's Jim just past that rock on the right. It was really COOL to look up into the different windows to see the sea creatures swimming above our heads!

Well..this is it for this time around. We really did have a great time!It was nice to get away for a couple of days and just relax and enjoy ourselves .:)

Thanks for stopping in again and please don't leave before you say hi.:)
