Re-doing the Pantry :)

Remember the pull out pantry that Jim made for me a while back ? Well..it got to be too heavy for me to keep pulling it out and pushing it back in with it loaded down with groceries.So...I asked Jim if he could make some drawers for it instead. That way.. all I would have to do is pull out the drawer with the stuff in it that I needed instead of that and everything else.:) He started on it right away and custom fit it to the desired heights that I needed for the different sized food items.YAY!! Please scroll down to see the "almost" finished project.:)
He put slats on each side to use as drawer runners.
These are the almost finished drawers.Still need a coat of varnish and a few finishing touches.I pulled one of the drawers out so you could see how this works.:)
Jim attached the door with some special door hinges.( the kind for the disabled) This allows the door to open with the other shelving unit behind it and also be out of the way for the drawers to pull out.:)
Here is the "almost" finished door.It needs a coat of white enamel and some repair for the little nicks that were made in the removal of it from the pull out pantry.:)( Jim had screwed it to the front of the pull out pantry and it had to have fillers etc to cover all those screw holes). I am trying to decide if I want to paint the big hinges white or leave them as they are...decisions ..decisions..:) We have a lot to do this Spring and Summer. One thing on the list is new linoleum or tile for the floor. This one has been torn up from the rollers on the pull out pantry.:( It will be sooo nice for all of us when it is finished.I can already tell a difference in it.:)

Thanks for looking.:)

Soo CUTE!! :)

Isn't this CUTE??? I went to my bedroom this morning after making my bed and saw Christy's cat laying/lying with the teddy bears on the bench under my window.:) She does this pretty often lately and I just HAD to take a pic to show you. She feels right at home evidently....sound asleep with her head tucked under the leg of Papa teddy.hehe

Katlyn BB page using You Are My Sunshine

I made a brag book page using a freebie kit called...You Are My Sunshine...and I love the way it turned out.I did recolorize the little button with the bow inside of the flowers. I needed more green.LOL I am not sure if the kit is still available as a freebie..but I think you can get it from
  • Vickie's
  • store if you are interested.
This is my Great Niece again..on her third bday last year. She is really growing so I need to get these layouts done as fast as I can.hehe

    Christy's FINISHED doll.:)

Okay..I jumped the gun and was so excited to show you Christy's doll before it was finished the last time I posted about it. Here is her finished product..which by the way..is already SOLD!! :) A co-workers Mom saw it on facebook and wanted it. How COOL..even before it was finished!!! I am a little upset..cause ..I would have LOVED to add her to MY collection!!hehe Christy painted the eyes and airbrushed the tail and added glitter to the edges..She made the rock with all the cute little seashells too. She is sooo clever!!:) She even put gloss on the Mermaid's torso so it would look like she is wet. I tell you...that co-worker's Mom is getting a wonderful handmade doll for a VERY good price!! It pays to be a friend of Christy's.hehe
I would absolutely LOVE it if you would leave a comment for Chrsity here! :)

    Thanks for looking!
